This Privacy Policy explains how Carbon Chemistry Ltd. ("Carbon Chemistry," "we," "us") collects, uses and shares information when you visit carbonchemistry.com (the "Site"), contact us, or request a quote. It covers this Site only. Our written service agreements with customers may set additional terms for data we handle while providing services.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us

Contact and quote requests: your name, company, business email address and your question or request, and your phone number if you choose to give it (phone is optional).
Sign-in: there is no sign-in on the Site at launch.
Correspondence: anything you send us by email or through the Site.

Information collected automatically

Server and security logs, such as IP address, browser type, pages requested, date and time, and referring page. The web server writes a standard access line, including the visitor IP and the page requested, to its log so the Site can be kept running. That line is not stored in a database by the Site.
Cookies and similar technologies. See our Cookie Notice. Our network and security provider, Cloudflare, sets one strictly necessary security cookie. We do not use analytics or advertising cookies. The Site's pages do not run advertising trackers, and fonts and scripts are served from the Site itself.

Information from customers' business dealings

If you are a customer, we may hold order, invoice, shipment and inventory information for your account.

We do not knowingly collect payment card numbers on this Site.

2. How we use information

To answer your inquiries and prepare quotes.
To provide, invoice and support the services you buy from us.
To operate, maintain, secure and improve the Site, including preventing fraud and abuse.
To meet legal, tax, customs and recordkeeping obligations.
We do not send marketing email.
We use the information you give us to respond to you, to help you better, and to develop and improve our services.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

We may use automated tools to help us review and respond to your inquiry. Your information stays with Carbon Chemistry and is not sold.

How we send email. We send email from a Carbon Chemistry shared business mailbox (hello@carbonchemistry.com) through Microsoft, not from the public website server. Copies of the emails we send, and the replies we receive, are kept in that mailbox. These emails are transactional: we send them only to answer you or handle your request, and we don't use them for marketing.

We share information only as needed to run our business:

Service providers that host and operate the Site and our systems for us. The Site is hosted on DigitalOcean. Cloudflare provides our network and security service: it handles traffic to the Site, including IP addresses and request details, to deliver pages and block abuse. Microsoft (Microsoft Graph / Outlook) sends our email from our business mailbox and holds copies of the emails and replies in that mailbox. Carbon Chemistry handles the information you send us through the Site directly, including quote requests. We do not hand it to another company to process for its own purposes. We use Microsoft to send and store our email, DigitalOcean to host the Site and Cloudflare to deliver and protect it; they handle this data only to provide those services to us.
Logistics partners such as carriers, customs brokers and freight forwarders, when needed to perform services you request.
Professional advisers, such as accountants, lawyers and insurers.
Legal and safety: when required by law or to protect rights, property or safety.
Business transfers: in connection with a merger, financing, acquisition or sale of assets.

4. How long we keep information

Quote forms. A quote form submission is held on the server that hosts the Site (DigitalOcean) until Carbon Chemistry's own server collects it. We do not delete a submission from the website server before it has been collected. Once collected, it is stored on Carbon Chemistry's own server and deleted periodically when it is no longer needed.

Copies may remain in backups for a limited period.

Emails and replies in our shared team mailbox: we do not currently have a fixed deletion period, so these messages may be kept for years. We expect to adopt a retention policy and will update this page when we do. To ask us to delete your messages, email hello@carbonchemistry.com.

5. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

6. Your choices and rights

You may ask to access, correct or delete personal information we hold about you, and to opt out of marketing email.
Depending on where you live, state privacy laws may give you more rights, such as the right to appeal our decision.
To make a request, contact us at hello@carbonchemistry.com. We may need to verify your identity.

7. Children

The Site is for businesses. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

8. Links to other sites

The Site may link to third-party sites. Their own privacy policies apply.

9. Changes

We may update this policy. We will post the new version on this page with a new effective date.
